Driving event innovation
In November 2021, the The Transat Jacques Vabre saw the world’s top offshore sailors race over 5,000 miles from Le Havre to Martinique in the West Indies. Our events team worked hard to make this edition the most environmentally friendly yet by reducing the event’s carbon emissions and promoting diversity and inclusion.
Curve helped launch a start-up innovation challenge and incubator fund for projects to further reduce the event’s carbon footprint and spark job creation. We also used an accredited carbon measurement system, analysing emissions data for a carbon report, in a move towards making the event net zero by 2025. In a sailing first, a grant and mentoring programme allowed two female sailor to participate in the transatlantic race.

"We are building a sustainability programme that embraces diversity, addresses climate change, leaving a positive legacy in the race’s home city of Le Havre and Martinique.”
