Showing love for nature

Developing an impactful communications strategy for the hugely successful annual 'Show the Love', campaign gave us the opportunity  to engage and empower people from all walks of life to be part of the climate change conservation at home, school, the workplace and with their political representatives.

Leading on the communications for the group, comprised of a broad spectrum of national institutions including RSPB, Oxfam, NUS and Women’s Institute, the campaign mobilised hundreds of thousands of people.

The initiative’s aim was to encourage appreciation of their own environment, wherever that may be, and through this to inspire actions, whatever the size, to protect them for future generations.

Working with sporting associations, Premier League football clubs and Lords, the home of cricket, the culmination, around Valentine’s Day proved a major hit with national media and their regional counterparts. This included the politically influential BBC Radio 4 Today Programme and a host of broadcast, online and print coverage.

This approach has provided the template for subsequent Show the Love campaigns.
